Candida is a yeast that is naturally present in the human body. It is found in places such as the mouth, skin, digestive tract, or genitals. In general, it is harmless, but excessive growth of this fungus can cause infections with visible consequences. It most commonly affects women, but can also occur in men.
Some life circumstances, such as stress, poor diet, taking antibiotics, or hormonal changes, can create a suitable environment for the outbreak of candida and thus disrupt its balance with beneficial lactobacilli bacteria.
